Jerry is a steady, dependable member of the Canyon City Crime Lab, part of a team of dedicated and hard working professionals. Long hours, demanding workloads and sometimes simply because of the nature of his work, Jerry' s relationship with his wife is becoming more and more distant. Although he longs for more affection and intimacy from her, they seem to be drifting apart. She works shift herself in the local ER, and what started out as a very intense physical relationship has now morphed into a seemingly platonic, almost brother/sister type arrangement.

Jerry has a lot of repressed emotions, feelings and needs that have no outlet and so when faced with a dilemma at work, be it co-worker, victim or potential suspect, he is conflicted and struggles to deal with the commitment he has for his wife and their passionless marriage.
